I've been a big fan of Iggy Pop for years and years. The Stooges, need I say more? He put out a CD back in '93 or '94 called American Caesar. On the CD he wrote about the music business and if you want to know anything about him, just write and he'll respond. I thought it was PR hype and just wrote something like, "How's it going?" At the very least I was expecting a bumper sticker or some type of label information. I was shocked months later when my self-addressed stamped envelope came back and there was a handwritten response. When Iggy came on the show in 2001, I went through the proper channels to see if it would be possible to get my photo taken with my hero. I got the OK and soon I was able to show Iggy the letter and ask him if he really wrote it. He said, "Sure, who else would write that?" He was very cool. |
