It has been a LONG time between posts! What can I say…nobody checks out websites anymore…not even me! Today the Late Show community (not sure how else to describe us) said goodbye to our friend, Jerry Foley. He was a great man and really made whoever he was talking to, the most important person in the room. He gave respect and he got respect. After long weeks making TV, Jerry would often join us to blow off some steam. After our dinners I always took a photo so I could post to this website. I remember he’d say, “Is this going to end up on BobBorden.com?” The answer was always, yes…ha ha. Visits to his office to discuss the piece we were about to shoot often turned into long/great conversations about everything. I thought about Jerry and life a lot in the past couple of weeks. It’s hard to make sense of it all. The last time I saw Jerry last year, I bought him a beer. That’s a good memory. Rest in Peace. Jerry, here’s one more photo for you:

I haven’t posted in a while! I’ve been “busy” this summer on Instagram with a Summer of Bob promotion. I take normal, everyday things and make them seem important. People loved it. My Instagram followers grew by maybe one. Ha ha. Sorry to hear about Jimmy Buffett. I was also sorry to hear about Smash Mouth singer, Steve Harwell.

I have a Steve Harwell story. I was backstage at Late Show helping out with getting the guests to sign their contracts for appearing on the show. I ran into Steve and he recognized me from some of the things I did on the show! He was so nice and then he offered me a beer! At this point in my life I was shy Bob and by-the-rules Bob and turned him down. I think I didn’t want to drink on the job. Looking back, I should have had the beer! R.I.P. to a nice guy!

If you like watching videos of people reminiscing, you’re going to love this! Spoiler alert, it’s me!

You know what I love? I know what you’re thinking, food and not exercising…no. I love the guitar! I love it so much I might learn how to play someday. I might even take lessons. However, I’m not quite there yet. Before I take lessons, I need to work on my sound! During the pandemic, I won a Super Bowl pool and put that money towards the best guitar and the best effects. This was the guitar I ended up with:

Beautiful, right? Yes BUT…it’s a semi-hollow and kinda big. Also, I could never really dial-in my sound. So, the guitar sat, unplayed, for over a year. Last weekend I loaded it up and took it to Guitar Center for a SWEET trade. The guitar I wanted wasn’t in stock, so I have to wait a month for them to get it. After a year of not playing, another month isn’t going to kill me.

While I was in Guitar Center, a customer grabbed a guitar and for over 30 minutes, this is what I and everybody in the store heard:

Isn’t that crazy? I was talking to the one of the employees and asked him if this happens regularly. He said it does…he was wearing earplugs!!! It was so bad! Why are people so clueless?! Have some pride! Practice in a dark room, alone, like I do!

I’ve never been a coffee guy but for the last few years I’ve become a breakfast guy. Coffee has slowly crept into my life. I only drink it with breakfast or after a good dinner. Then, very recently, I got hooked on cafe lattes.

I start off every Saturday and Sunday morning with a large cafe latte!

They are delicious! I had regular coffee yesterday and I said to myself…this would be more enjoyable if it were a latte! I’m hooked. I can’t believe I’m posting this.

BobBorden.com is back (again)! Why? Why not! I had this pointing to my Instagram account for SO LONG I couldn’t figure out how to get this site back! I finally had to contact my web provider. They are good! During the reconnecting process, this came up:

Ha ha! That’s original BB.com! Classic. So, what’s going on? Not much. Living, working and taking care of our dog, Iggy. His ACL sh*t the bed and the recovery isn’t easy!

He was doing OK but this weekend he jumped when he shouldn’t have jumped and F’d up his other leg! The jury is still out on that but we’ll probably have to get him looked at. Anything for my guy! That’s all I know for now. Peace out! Bob

After 18 great seasons, today we’re sad to say we’re hanging up our cleats. Thanks for everything, Pittsburgh. We did it!

I’m a little late but Happy New Year!!!
