Bus Story:
I'm in the Port Authority tonight waiting to go home. An old man gets on the bus before me and asks the driver if the air conditioner can be turned on. The bus driver mumbles something. The old man then walks through the bus, closing every single window. I overhear him telling another passenger he doesn't like to breathe the bad air in the tunnel. I'm watching this unfold, totally enjoying his level of madness. HE doesn't like the air, so HE closes ALL the windows. With no A/C, it's like a greenhouse inside! Two seconds after he sits down, two of the windows are opened by other passengers. The old man never noticed the open windows and the air conditioner never came on. I guess the bus driver mumbled "no."
Best,
Bob

Cara and I had a somewhat perfect dinner in the city Thursday night. I say "somewhat" because the restaurant/bar we were in was packed. And as we all know, I'm not a fan of crowds. We had to sit in the "bar" side. So, we're eating our dinner and for about 20 minutes, this was our view:

I mean, WTF? Let me see if I can post a video to show you how I felt at the time...

Wow! That video took about 8 hours to post. Blogger problems. But, thank goodness I was able to get that information out there, ha ha.
Best,
Bob

My Weekend:
Friday night Cara and I saw Young@Heart. It's a documentary about a New England senior citizen chorus. They sing the hip songs of the day; Ramones/Clash/Coldplay. It was really great. And I don't mind telling you, it made me tear up.
Afterwards we ate dinner at Rosa Mexicana. Yum! Guacamole!
Saturday I woke up and got my driver's license renewed. It's always a pain to go to the DMV. But they finally got their act together. I was out of there in 30 minutes. I have nothing against the DMV folks, they have to deal with morons all day. Next, I went to the A & P. Once I was home, I spent the day cleaning my apartment. I can't wait to move out of here and into a place with Cara. Have you ever seen my bathroom sink?
Bob has a small sink.
This is no joke! There are two walls on the sides of the sink. My shoulders are broader than these walls, so my head can't get close enough to wash my face. 90% of the water ends up on the floor. And I've only put up with that for 13 years! Ha ha.
Where was I?
Saturday night Cara and I had a lovely dinner in Hoboken. We ate at Zack's Oak Bar & Restaurant. Good food.
Sunday Morning I went to pick up my laundry and I came across a cool find:
Bob found these cool suitcases!
How cool are these? Take a look at your fancy design television shows and design magazines; old suitcases are all the rage.
And that was my weekend.
Best,
Bob

If I had to do it all over again...
I wouldn't have purchased this shirt.
Such is life.
Wow, has it been a week since my last update? I guess so. Cara and I saw Rhett Miller (from the Old 97's) in Hoboken last night. She's a fan. I don't know his music...but, he was very good. Just him and a guitar. It made me want to go out and buy an acoustic guitar. I was going to buy one tonight but then I thought, why? Ha ha. I have a Telecaster I never play. I don't know any chords. I just like the loud noises (hard to do in an apartment).
We saw him at Maxwell's. It's so great to see bands there - so small! It's a room in the back of a bar.
I leave this post with some random thoughts:
Best name for a band I've heard in a while: Genghis Tron
Best way to cut snacking in half: Oranges and almonds (but not too many.)
Best channel on Sirius (Howard Stern excluded): The Bridge (Bruce Springsteen channel)
Best time saver: Dropping off my laundry.
Item I didn't win on eBay: Biz Markie action figure
Item I'm seriously considering buying from eBay:
Ha ha. Isn't this great?!
Best,
Bob
