It's Friday! I thank you for helping with my decision to go to Atlantic City this weekend. Labor Day traffic, crowds and saving my money towards an LA trip in September - All of those things point towards not going. So, I'm not going to go. Instead I'm going to get in the car and drive around Hoboken, ha ha. That's funny because Hoboken is one square mile - ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ---AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!! Internet Acting, thank you very much. I went out last night. I enjoyed a couple beers with friends at the old bar. Got home, fell asleep on the sofa and here I am. In other words, I got nothing. I'm working on Monday - so when you're at the big family BBQ, don't forget to log on and tell your family and friends about BobBorden.com. Enjoy your Friday, Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!

It's a rare occurrence these days but last night I was recognized on the streets of Hoboken. Catherine and her father Otto were enjoying a beverage on a late summer evening. We had a nice little chat. Otto is 92 years old and has spent his entire life in Hoboken. I don't think I've ever met anyone actually from Hoboken before. Catherine recognized me from my appearances on the show - That's pretty good because I haven't been on in a long time. Anyway, it was nice to meet some good people. I won $2 playing the Big Game lottery yesterday. I took the $2 and put it right back into some more Big Game tickets. I've been having lottery daydreams lately. The daydreams usually end up with me driving across the country in a cool car. Today is the 8th Anniversary of the Late Show on CBS. It's also my 6th Anniversary with the show and living in Hoboken. Time just doesn't stop - Sometimes that's a good thing. So I'm in bed last night, almost asleep. At that point my cats get into some kind of disagreement and one of them runs across my bed at full speed. I'm still not sure who it was but they used my leg to climb up and also used that same leg to launch into kitty light speed. The end result was a bloody leg that I had to mend at 2:30 in the am! I love the cats but they turned on me last night. Next subject -- If you know me at all you know that I have a tendency to over think things. I was thinking about driving down to Atlantic City this weekend. You know, to get my car out on the road. However, now, I'm having second thoughts. So, I'm going to leave it to you:
Should I go to Atlantic City this weekend or should I stay home?
Cast your vote on my message board today. OK, that's all I got! Have a great one

Back in late June, early July I started cutting my own hair. You know, so I'd look good for the ladies. Anyway, it's growing back but it's in that in between stage. It won't spike up the way I like it. I'm thinking I should just cut it myself again but summer is coming to a close and maybe a buzz cut isn't the smartest way to go in the cooler air? Just thinking out loud. I was watching CNN yesterday, all day. They had live coverage from some disturbance in Chicago to a plane in California that wasn't sure if its landing gear was locked into place. I was just thinking how amazing it is to be able to watch all of those things unfold live. It's easy to take things for granted. It's a big, crazy world and it's on TV. I watched Let's Make a Deal last night on TV. Monty Hall sure did know how to craft a deal. I also finally finished Blood Simple. Very good film! I bought Bottle Rocket and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory yesterday on DVD. I hope they mail them by the weekend. I love Willy Wonka - Gene Wilder is amazing! I want to check out some of his other stuff. I saw a guy passed out at the bus station this morning. He wasn't moving and there were cops around him. He could have been dead. Welcome to New York! Is that enough for Wednesday? Yes. Have a good one. Tell a friend about BobBorden.com. THIS JUST IN: I'm an uncle again! My brother George and his wife Liz had a baby boy last night. That's number four, for those of you counting at home. Congratulations!!!!!!

After my boring weekend, I have to admit that it was nice to get back to work. I filed stuff and took care of some things that I put on the back burner. The day went fast. The humidity is back! I walked to and from work - from the bus station. On my way home last night I went into three stores looking for Bottle Rocket on DVD. I came up empty. That's why the Internet rules! They're rarely out of stock. I really, really want to see that movie again. I even tried to rent it -- it was out. I hate renting DVDs where I live. The stores are so bad at what they do. I just want to rent a DVD sweets, save the attitude for someone else. Hey, checkout Paula's notes later today. She finally has a new one. That reminds me - I know I've let the web page slide a little by not updating certain things but I'm looking at the grand picture right now. At the end of October will be one year for BobBorden.com. I hope by then to give my site a new, fresh, hip look. Something the kids can get behind and enjoy. Oh my, this morning on my walk from the bus station I saw a homeless man lift the shirt of his homeless female companion. Forget about finding the woman of my dreams, I just want to be able to look at a woman again without thinking of that! Take that image and add it to the smell of the city streets and it makes for an interesting walk. I'd describe the smell on some of the blocks as a cross between spoiled milk and used urine. Just to give you an idea. OK, that's about it for today. You're wearing a Mask. Have a good one.

If I would have sat in front of a plant this weekend and watched it grow, I would have been more productive than what I actually did. Friday night I went with my friend Jay to go see Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I know -- my name is Bob and my friend's name is Jay, ha ha. Anyway, I didn't expect much; it seemed like a lame premise to begin with. This is where I want to say "but I was so wrong, the film was pure cinematic genius!" I can't say it because it never rose above fart jokes. I saw it with a bunch of die-hard fans, they applauded every time one of the characters from his earlier films made a cameo - It was so LAME! I was disappointed. I got home and fell asleep on my sofa. I woke up at 5:30 and was out of it. I got into bed and woke up again, at 1:00! I sleept my day away. If you remember from Friday's diary I was talking about taking a long drive. Damn. I stayed in and watched movies. American Flyer, Prefontaine and some other things I can't remember. Sunday, I got up and did my laundry. I stopped off at the toy store to get my nephew a present. I told him I'd send him something if he learned how to ride his bike without training wheels. Good for him, he did it! I love the kids! I had McDonald's for dinner. And that, ladies and gentlemen was my weekend. Big freaking deal! Have a great day.

Hello. I ripped my new favorite pair of pants yesterday -- Twice! The first time I walked into an open metal drawer and the second, I got caught on a fire hydrant type thing. Life's crazy sometimes. I think that's the Lord's way of telling me I shouldn't wear pants. Did you know that James Dean was only 24 when he was killed? Crazy world, that's all you can say. Blood Simple was on cable last night. I'd never seen it before. I watched half of it and recorded the second half. I'm going to finish it up tonight. I missed the Condit interview; I'll check it out today. I'm sure I didn't miss much. Lies, lies, LIES!!!! I'm eating some Honeycomb cereal right now -- it's very good. Did the cereal prices go up again? I'm playing around with the idea of getting in the car and driving to Woodstock, just for the heck of it. I'm thirty years too late for Woodstock, the concert but I'm sure it'd be a change of pace from the big city. I'll check it out on the net today. OK, I'm done. Have a great weekend.

I'm looking at a blank page and I've got nothing! How about that lotto? I stopped off at the record store tonight; I'm so out of touch. I have no idea what's new/good anymore. I can remember a time when you went into a record store and everybody was into heavy metal. It was a simpler, better time. After the record store I walked past the laundry mat and saw my good friend Tiffany. We just talked and talked. That was a nice little unplanned moment. You know what, I'm going to make this crazy short today. Why prolong the fantasy that I have anything to say today? I found another interesting website yesterday - www.TomPoston.com - Why should you check it out, Why not?! Be real.

This is kind of like my first diary since I've been back. Monday's was a recap of my vacation and Tuesday's Diary was just a roll of film I had developed. Anyway, Hello. It's been a busy week at work but that's good. I don't mind rolling up the sleeves and getting dirty. I watched Hoffa last night on TV. I like that film, I watch it almost every time I happen upon it. I walked from the Port Authority to work yesterday morning and again when it was time to go home. I haven't done that in a long time - I just got lazy for two years - ha ha! I'm going to do it more often - I have to get these bones moving. When I starting working here back in 1995, I walked to and from the bus station everyday for a year. Snow, rain, sleet - you name it, I walked through it. I walked because I didn't know the subway dropped you off right across from our building. My friend, "Chad" clued me in to that one day. Boy, did I feel like a dork, ha ha. I've been working in the same place for six years at the end of this month. What a journey it's been. I've been feeling so introspective lately. What with looking at life through my nephews' eyes. We have absolutely no control over anything. By "anything" I guess I'm talking about destiny. Wow, OK - I have no idea what I'm talking about. Hey, my friends Walter and Jay, they produce the Late Show web site - They're launching the redesigned site today. Be sure to check it out. They're good guys and do a great job with that site. Speaking of web sites - I was thinking about my favorite childhood cartoon, Beetle Bailey, today and I found a neat web site - www.MortWalker.com, it's something different. OK, I think that's enough for a Wednesday. Have a good one.

I've been a big fan of Iggy Pop for years and years. His music, to me, is raw and without boundaries. He put out a CD back in 93 or 94 called American Caesar. On the CD he wrote about the music business and if you want to know anything about him, just write and he'll respond. I thought it was PR hype and just wrote something like, "How's it going?" At the very least I was expecting a bumper sticker or some type of label information. I was shocked months later when my self-addressed stamped envelope came back and there was a hand written response. Here, check out the letter. The Thursday before my vacation Iggy was a guest on the show. I went through the proper channels to see if it would be possible to get my photo taken with a true rock 'n roll icon. I got the OK and soon I was able to show Iggy the letter and ask him if he really wrote it. He said, "Sure, who else would write that?" He was very cool and I was able to get my picture with him. Check it out. I was so excited after that! Thanks Iggy! This next photo was taken at my boss's wedding a few months ago. I met Lori through my friend Lee. Check it out. I've added this picture to this page for two reasons: 1. I look sweet in a tux and 2. Lori is freaking hot! The next pictures are from my vacation, which you read through yesterday. My brother at the grill. My nephews and niece -- getting ready to play. And last, a hot summer night. Oh, I almost forgot, here's a picture I found in the attic of my first car - a 1977 Buick LeSabre - Sweet ride!. That's it for the picture show. See ya tomorrow!

I promised a day by day account of my vacation and you got it! Just when you think it's boring, keep reading, I promise exciting information around every corner. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you:

The Steubenville Files

Day one - Today, I woke up in Hoboken and got ready for my trip back to the motherland, Steubenville! First on my list was to get rid of the Skylark! I tried to get it on the show, I tried to sell it, I tried to give it to charity and I even tried to give it away! I drove it to the Auto Graveyard and the guy gave me $25 for it. I said, "sold American!" And with that, I was on my way. It was so busy on the turnpike today, just tense. But my "new" car did well on the roads. I got back to Ohio around 5:00. I would have got here earlier but the roads were crazy with the rain and the cars. I usually get off the pike at Pittsburgh but I could see the traffic was backed up. So, I just went straight to Ohio. A weird trip. Billy, my cat, heard a loud truck and threw up. I didn't even eat anything. The rest stop was packed with people. I'm on vacation!

Day two - I was with my car 90% of the day today and I loved it! First I had to get a slow leak taken care of at the tire place. They checked it out and it was cool - they didn't even charge me anything! Next, off to the auto parts store to get car washing stuff - twenty-three dollars, they have wax for your wax now -- crazy world. I rubbed years of dirt and grime off that ride. It probably took a good three hours. But I love to wash a car; it gives me a feeling of accomplishment. Plus, nothing rides like a clean car. My nephews and niece came over for dinner and we just played and played. Then, they left and I went back to my car! This time - stereo installation. That took another 3 hours - I'm writing this at 1:40 am. I'm going to bed.

Day three - Today was one of those lazy summer days. It was hot and humid so I stayed in and watched TV. The stereo I put in my car yesterday stopped working. I have to send it back. Nothing is ever smooth, there's always something! I've been toying around with getting in my car and driving west. Kind of like a little vacation from my vacation. But now I have to wait for my radio to get fixed. I had to destroy the factory radio. It was screwed in there with the wrong screws. I had to drill them out because I stripped them - they were in there so tight. I have to admit I always wanted to drill out a stuck screw. It makes me feel manly. I took my $25 from the "sale" of my Skylark and bought $25 in Lotto tickets. I figure; I might as well parlay my $25 into $66 million. I lost. Damn you lotto, you won again!!!! I may go to the dog track this week so, I'm sure I'll make up for it. Can you say, "Problem Gambler?" I'm going to bed.

Day four - More car stuff. I brought the car in today for the tune up and as I expected but was hoping against - it needs some stuff. Nothing major, just little things; rear brake pads, tune up, radiator flush, replace the valve cover gasket, add a tire rotation here and a front end line up there and I'm looking at quite the little bill. But it's good to start off with a clean slate. Better a coolant flush than a new radiator. I'm picking it up tomorrow. They "gave" me a loner car a Chevy Cavalier - Yuk! Today I went swimming in my friend's, Tim and Tonya's pool. It's so humid! I also helped my Mom baby sit the nephews and the niece. I had to put my bathing suit back on because we had squirt gun fights in their mini pool. Fun night! I love the kids! Tonight I went to the store to pick up some cat food. They had those self serve checkout lanes. I've heard about those things - It's called USCAN. It was incredible! You put your stuff down, scan it, bag it, pay and you're on your way! That made me happy. I hope I get to do it again. That's it.

Day five - I picked up my car this morning. I can ride with confidence after taking care of this and that. On the way home I picked up some McDonalds - I got the number 2, super sized with a Sprite. It's so humid out I just stayed in the rest of the day. Tonight, I went to the dog track with my friend Steve. Just our luck, the dogs don't race on Tuesday. They have various slot machines in West Virginia so we hit those instead. I didn't go crazy with the money because I paid so much to get my car done. Anyway, I left $7.50 down - Not bad. After that we went to a German Restaurant in Wheeling, WVA. It was some good eating. I had the pork and kraut. After that, I kicked it home with the windows down and the sunroof open. I think I'm going to go checkout the rock n' roll hall of fame this week. Why the hell not? Until tomorrow - -

Day six - Day six and I can't believe I'm keeping my promise to write something daily. Today I went to the mall with my Mom and my nephews. We enjoyed pretzels, went to the game room and looked in the toy store. We watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory when we got back. Later I went swimming again. It's crazy, crazy hot and humid. My brother cooked up some steaks for dinner. You know what I say about steaks - Mmmmmmm, steak! It's so hot; I've just stayed in for the rest of the day. OK, that's it. I lost the Powerball again - Damn Lotto! I could have used that 75 million. Later.

Day seven - I drove 50 miles to eat at an Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips today. And it was so worth it! I got the original: Two pieces of fish, fries and hush puppies. A long time ago there was one in Steubenville. We used to go there when we were kids. That batter they use is the bomb! I was thinking that I'd probably go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but it's too damn hot! I didn't do myself any favors by not turning on my a/c. I just feel like after going so many years without it, I feel like there should be a special event or something. Almost like I really need a good reason to use it -- I'm crazy in the head sometimes. I played in the sprinkler with the nephews tonight. I'm going to take them swimming tomorrow. They keep me on my toes. I can't believe I still have over a week left before I have to go back to work! I'm going to bed, goodnight computer.

Day eight - I took my nephews to my friend's Tim and Tonya's pool. We had a great time and my tan has never looked better! We spent about 4 hours in the water. I love the kids! I told you on Monday that I had to send my car stereo back. Well, it's Friday and I got the exchange back already! So, I'd like to send out props to Crutchfield.com - Great service! Tonight I went out to see my brother's heavy metal band, After Shok, perform. They can kick out the jams live! I was in the back of the bar yelling my guts out between songs. I always like to help a brother out when I can. OK, I'm going to pour aloe on my skin and hit the sack. Rock N' Roll FOREVER!!!!

Day nine - And I'm feeling fine! Lame. I just kicked it around the house today. I have this big zit under my nose and it's preventing me from doing anything. The humidity is still here but not as bad today. My brother's band was very good live. It was a weird place to play - part bar, part restaurant and part banquet hall. I got in just as they started and I left when they said goodnight -- I didn't feel comfortable in that place, I got bad vibes. I'm getting better at the stick shift. I figure out something new everyday. I watched that show Trading Spaces on TLC tonight. I finally saw one where the couple hated, hated how their room was redesigned. It was cool. They do some wacky things on that show. I'm going to bed. This is my vacation?!

Day ten - I almost forgot to write something! I just got out of bed to write this. Someone better damn well read this crap! I woke up today at 12:00! You have no idea how sweet that felt. I had a few bowls of Honeycomb and pulled out some of my old music videos. I started things off with some Judas Priest and then watched Van Halen. The Priest video was just so-so but the VH video was great! It was from the 5150 tour, I think. Eddie sure can play! After that I got a shower and drove over to my brother's house. On the grill tonight, pork. Mmmmmmmm, pork. I played with the kids and then took off. I rented some videos tonight, Buffalo '66 and Escape from New York. Escape from NY was crazy low budget! I'd never seen it, believe it or not. I've seen Buffalo '66 before and really liked it. I may watch that tomorrow night. I know, I'm crazy! - ha ha. Later.

Day eleven - I may have run out of things to do in Ohio. My one goal today was to go see a movie - I didn't make it. I did make it to the record store to buy Motley Crue's first record, Too Fast for Love. It sounds so great! I also picked up Sammy Hagar's Greatest Hits. The Red Rocker knows how to craft a good rock 'n roll tune. Van Halen should have kept him. I'm all for Diamond Dave and the old school VH but Sammy was 100% better than that Extreme guy. Sometimes we hold onto our pride so tight that we forget the greater good. The greater good in this case - Kick ass music! I bought my nephews a Hot Wheels stunt track. They had the cars but they never got around to the track part of it. That's the best part! They got a big kick out of it. I look at those kids and it just takes me back to when I was their age. Crying spurts, not wanting to share, playing all day - crazy world. I'm going to bed so I can get up tomorrow and do it all again.

Day twelve - Today was Jacob's birthday, he's my nephew. We had a good time. My sister in law, Liz, is pregnant with nephew #4. We thought that the miracle of birth was on its way but it was a false alarm. Because of that, I've been in the house for two days. I'm all stir crazy! I rented Traffic and Strange Brew. Both of which I haven't got around to watching yet. How lazy is that, I can every watch a movie at home! I was up in the attic tonight looking at the various confusing stages of my life -- What a long, strange trip. The powerball is up to 100 million. You know I have my tickets already. OK, I'm going to go do more of nothing.

Day thirteen - When is the vacation going to end? Mental note: plan a trip next time! Got up today, took a shower and was going to go pick up some pictures. There was only one problem, I couldn't find my keys! It took me over an hour to find them - I put them behind a picture frame. That pissed me off. I got the photos, bought a couple of shirts and picked up a new cat carrier for my cats. It's bigger, stronger and it comes with a water/food dish. I lost the stupid lotto again! I could have used 100 million. My Mom cooked up some chicken; it was very, very good. Thanks again sweets! I went to the county fair tonight with my brother and his kids. I rode the rides with my nephews - we had a good old time. I'd like to describe what the county fair experience is like but I won't - It would be like ripping on my self, after all, I was born here too. I will say this; the mullet haircut is alive and well! It's even well represented in the next generation. Enough said. On the way home we were listening to Weezer's new CD. They love it! Except for the slower song. When that came on Jacob said, "That's not rock 'n roll!" "This is a poo poo song!" And he just went on and on! Very funny. I was thinking how cool it is that father and sons can enjoy the same music. I loved my Dad, God rest his soul but we never shared the same tastes in music. It was always called, "That noise." As in, "Turn down that noise!" It wasn't a big deal at all - just two different generations. The line seems to be a little blurred these days. I look into my nephews' eyes and just wonder what they're thinking and try to think of myself at that age. It freaks me out. Such is life. One more day in Steubenville and then I hit the road.

Day fourteen - Today, my last day in Steubenville, I took off a couple of stickers on my car. I also said goodbye to my friends and my nephews and niece. I'm going to miss those kids! However, I'm looking forward to a break - those kids wear me out! I look back at my vacation in Steubenville and I've learned something - Live each day like it were your last and you'll have nothing to complain about. I don't know what that means, it just sounds good. Mom, I'm sorry I never got around to cleaning your storm windows. It was just too hot to do them the first week I was here and the second week I seemed to be busy with the kids and stuff. I'm going to drive back to Hoboken tomorrow. Talk to you then.

Day fifteen - I'm back in Hoboken, talk about culture shock! You try making the adjustment from Ohio to New Jersey! I'm a creature of habit and for the past six years I've been taking the Pennsylvania Turnpike to get back to Ohio. Today was a first -- I took route 80. I had a much better ride! Better scenery, better road, no tolls and better rest stops. I like a rest stop with no fast food affiliation - a soda machine and a toilet is all I need. Speaking of toilets - I had to use it a record number of times today. I'd say about 5 or 6, I'm used to only going once, twice max. I was seriously contemplating going in my car. Put that McDonalds cup to good use! I have a feeling I made the right choice by using the rest stops. However, the seed is planted. My car did really good as did my cats. I'm going to grab a beer and watch a movie. Only two more days left!

Day sixteen - It's crazy humid out! I picked up my mail this morning and then went into the city. I stopped off at work to go through my mail. After that I came home and watched Jackie Brown. I enjoy that film. I kicked it, had a beer and I'm going to watch another movie now, Three Businessmen, I know nothing about it. Only that the director, Alex Cox, directed one of my favorite films, Repo Man. OK, that's it.

Day seventeen - My last day of vacation has come to an end. I ventured out only once to go to the store. The rest of the day was spent in front of the boob tube, as my Dad used to call it. I cooked up some Shake 'N Bake tonight. I didn't like the chicken so much. It had a rubbery texture to it almost like the chicken people over fed those birds at the last minute. I watched everything from car shows to cooking shows and everything in between -- All in all, a great last day. OK, I hope you enjoyed reading about my vacation half as much as I enjoyed living it.

And that brings us to today -- You know, now that I think about it, my vacation wasn't really that exciting. Oh well. Tune in tomorrow for something new -- a photo diary and find out what famous musician Bob had his photo taken with. I almost forgot - I'm not going to sit through spell check on this mammoth diary. So, if you find a grammatical error, let's just keep it to ourselves.

I was walking home last night as usual. On Wednesday nights during the summer they play music in this park in Hoboken. I heard them singing "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson. Usually, I just walk by but this rendition pulled me in. They were pretty good - They even broke it down and the singer did the moonwalk! I don't think I've ever been that happy before. The thing I love the most about that story is they had to have a band meeting about their set. "OK, it's 2001 and we're playing in a park --- I don't know, maybe hit them with a little Billie Jean?" -- If I could only be a fly on the wall! Then they went into a song by Marc Anthony and I took off. I finally got to watch all of Harry and Tonto last night. That's one film that is always on and one that I always catch in the middle. Anyway, I'm watching it and towards the end of the film the cat, Tonto, dies. That really made me sad. Did they really have to write that in? I'm really looking forward to the show tonight. Iggy Pop is on. I'm a big fan. What else is going on? I'm looking forward to checking out that film Ghost World. I'm hearing good buzz. "Good buzz," all of the sudden, I'm Bobby Hollywood! I'm hoping, hoping that a charity can take my old car away today. I can't even give it away! Why I bought a new '89 Skylark, I'll never know? I can separate the different stages of my life by the cars I've driven:
1977 Buick LeSabre - The High School years. Cruising the mean streets of Steubenville, Ohio in the only LeSabre in town with lettered tires and chrome rims! I was years ahead of my time.
1989 Buick Skylark - The Technical school and college years. This car was bought brand new. All kidding aside, it has been a great car. I didn't have the grades to get into a real college. So, when my friends went away, I stayed in town to study Business Management. What did I learn from that experience? The customer is always right. From there the Skylark took me to Kent State University and thank heavens I found out that they offered classes about TV! The car took me here, six years ago. Six years! And now, I'm fresh into the Nissan years. Lord only knows where I'm going to go in that car. OK, I've been meaning to say this all week but wasn't sure how. This is the last diary until August 20th. I'm taking the time off to reflect and learn. OK, that's not true, we're on vacation. Please feel free to check out the BobBorden.com Archives. If you get bored with that, check out Mike McIntee's Wahoo Gazette. He's good people and no one gives you the behind the scenes dope like Mike. I'm going to write something everyday I'm away. So when I come back on the 20th, bring your reading glasses because it's going to be a long one! Time for Bob's Thursday Cliffhangers:

Will Bob meet the girl of his dreams?

Will Bob leave his apartment?

Why did Tonto have to die?

Did you know that the Swahili word for purple is zambarau?

Why is my car so hard to get rid of?

Blah, Blah, Blah - That's it. Have a good one - Tell your friends about BobBorden.com -- I almost forgot -- In lieu of a gift or money, I wanted to say thanks to out interns this semester. Thanks for everything Craig and Sarah!!!! Good luck!

It's August! I honestly have nothing today. Last night I talked on the phone, I'm quite the little chatterbox these days. Then, I got up to get something from my bedroom and an hour later the phone woke me up. Just that quick, I was asleep! That reminds me of something that happened to me over the weekend. And this probably falls into the category of things I shouldn't talk about online but what the heck. Hey, that sounds like a new feature to BobBorden.com - Things I Shouldn't Talk About Online.

Here it goes: I was talking to my friend Helen a few nights ago. American Pie was playing on my TV and I had the TV muted so I could have a distraction free conversation. I happened to look at the TV and the movie was at the part where the hot foreign exchange student gets naked. So, now, I'm glued to the screen and trying to have a conversation. I was talking but I couldn't get the words out in my usual fashion. "Are you OK, you sound weird?" said Helen, I responded with something like, no, I'm OK -- I'm just tired, I know, great cover! Pretty lame, huh? Well, that was a pretty good first installment, right? Hello? You know, I can't always come up with something interesting every day!!!! I'm worried about something -- Last night my friend Paula, Paula's Notes, was guest bartending - whatever that means! Anyway, she didn't so much ask me but pretty much told me, "You better be there." I didn't go. I wasn't in the mood to go to a bar. I'm worried because I think if we both laid our cards out on the table, she could kick my butt. I thought my old car was going to be on the show last night but it got cut. The upside to that was I got to go home midday and say hello to my cats. It was a nice little break in the day. I mentioned this recently but I notice more and more that people ask me about my cats. Like I'm at dinner and eventually someone looks at me and says, "And how are the kitties?" Just once, I'd like someone to ask me about the woman I'm seeing. However, for that to happen I guess I have to have a woman. Now, I'm angry. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! OK, that's it. That's not bad for having nothing. Be real.
