Man, I was in slow motion yesterday. I was in a haze because of my laid back weekend. Too much sleep isn't such a good thing.
I was checking the Access Hollywood tape from Friday to see if I was in the background of The Rock interview. I didn't make it. I was inching my way towards the camera too! So, I'm watching and I see two writers in the background walk by.

Have you seen The Man Who Wasn't There? I watched that a couple of weekends ago. Wow, that film looked spectacular! They made being a barber look cool. And the cigarettes, oh the cigarettes. I enjoy the Coen Brothers, they do quality stuff.

I'm going to see Spiderman this Friday. I'm looking forward to it. I hope it lives up to the hype. I really, really want it to be good. I remember coming home and watching Spiderman cartoons on channel 53 out of Pittsburgh. That was living! Cookies, milk and a great cartoon. It's funny how life doesn't seem that different nowadays, ha ha.
I bought this Old Spice soap the other day. It's overpowering! That's all I can smell in my apartment. I'm going to toss it. Life's too short to be taken advantage of by soap. I'm leaving work last night and I look out the window.

I couldn't believe it! I've been talking about this for months and I didn't even get the satisfaction of seeing them take it down! Oh well, that's a small price to pay. At least it's over, it's finally over. I wonder what's next?

Friday night I said no to plans of having dinner with my friends Sandi and Alex. I thought I was going to get out of work early and I didn't want to be hanging around for two hours waiting for dinner. As it turns out, I made it back to Hoboken around the time they were going to meet. I called but we missed each other. I picked up some dinner and walked home. When I got home, you guessed it, there was the message. Oh well, Boston Market hit the spot -- they know how to cook up a chicken. After dinner I laid down on my bed and the next thing I knew, it was midnight. I guess I needed the rest.

Saturday, I cleaned my apartment and played some Yahoo! pool with my friend Pam.

The big plan for Saturday was to do my laundry but I couldn't get motivated. Instead, I walked up to SuperCuts and got a haircut. It's a good haircut but the stylist had the personality of a lamp post. Not that I wanted to talk but at least pretend to like your job. When I was a kid my brother and I went to Louie. It was a two chair barber shop in downtown Steubenville. He was a nice guy and every now and then he'd let us look at his Playboys. Ah memories.

Saturday night I watched AI. I couldn't get through an hour of it. It was about some robot kid that could love. I took that out of my machine and put in Robo Cop! I don't want to watch movies about robots that love. I want to watch movies about robots that blow things up!

Oh man, Ovaltine! This is goooooooooood stuff! It was perfect for the gloomy/rainy day yesterday. I was walking in the cereal isle and without thinking, I put some Spiderman cereal in my cart. I stopped and asked myself what the heck I was doing?! I'm looking forward to the movie but if I would have bought that cereal, I would have been crossing a line. I finished cleaning my apartment, cooked up some dinner and called it a day/weekend. I'm going to be out of it today because I virtually had no human contact. When you burn your candle at both ends, like I do, you're bound to have slow one every now and then. That's it! God Bless America.

Hello! I met The Rock yesterday, sort of. I was running something backstage and on my way out The Rock was getting out of his car. I held the stage door while he signed some autographs. I stood beside him while he did a quick interview with Access Hollywood. I'm hoping that my head or part of my body will be on Access Hollywood this weekend. The Rock seems like good people, good for him. I want to say a special thank you to Mike McIntee of the Wahoo Gazette for a great mention yesterday. Thank you Mike! I also want to thank Tony Mendez, I didn't see it yet but my website is mentioned on the Tony Mendez Show tonight. Thank you very much Tony! Very exciting! My Bosses, Eric and Justin called me in their office yesterday. You know when you get "called in" it can't be good. I walked in and they gave me a giant cookie for my re-launch.

So, I have a brother. My brother, George, has been playing the drums for as long as I can remember. At one point, he even moved to Hollywood to pursue his dream. Years later, he's married, has 4 great kids and has a successful business. He doesn't have time for drums anymore, right? Wrong. It's the year of our Lord, 2002 and George plays the drums in a Heavy Metal band. That's right, Heavy Metal. He's in a band called AfterShok and they just put out a CD called Unfinished Business. Recently, I had the chance to sit down with my brother for some Q and A about his new CD, enjoy.

BB: Heavy Metal pretty much died out when Nirvana hit the scene in the early 90's --why bring it back now?

GB: We are 4 musicians who have created a "Classic Metal / Hard Rock" CD that we enjoy listening to. The main stream bands that are popular today all sound the same, just like the late 80's "Poppy Metal Bands" sounded the same. Simply put, it's time for a change.

BB: How did AfterShok get its name?

GB: Our lead singer Vic Hix was the front-man for a Cleveland band called Shok Paris. Who received national attention and MTV airplay. Our bass player Nick G. was in a band call Shockwave. So we felt that it would be appropriate to call the band AfterShok. It's all marketing.

BB: What was it like recording Unfinished Business?

GB: It was fun and challenging. But the best part was being in control of the vision we had for the songs. We took our time to make sure everything came out the way it was envisioned. We are extremely satisfied will all aspects of the CD.

BB: What was the "Unfinished Business?"

GB: Each one of us has personal reasons for calling the CD "Unfinished Business." For myself, playing in this group and producing a quality CD that I know people will enjoy completes my Unfinished Business.

BB: Why should I buy your CD, besides the fact that we're brothers?

GB: I feel that this is the best $12.99 a person can spend right now. You have 10 awesome tracks. You can understand the vocals. The musicianship and the song-writing are great. Plus, the production quality is just as good as any mainstream band with a major label deal. What more could you ask for?

What a great day yesterday! I enjoyed hearing from most of you on my message board, ha ha. Thanks for all the kind words. I'm really proud of this new version. The New Jersey Transit people never wrote back about their dirty bus messing up my clothes. The nerve! I got one of those automatic e-mail responses that says we'll get back to you in 24 hours. That must be a great job. Something comes across your desk, "Ah, the heck with it, I get to it tomorrow." Must be nice. New Jersey Transit, I haven't forgotten the events of 4/22/02, not by a long shot! Last night I got on the subway, I was looking around. My eyes locked with another person, a woman -- a pretty woman. We were eye locked for about 3 seconds, almost long enough for me to have a heart attack. It was that intense. I had to turn away and then I had to get off the subway. I feel like crap now but I don't know what to do in that situation?! You're not going to believe this, but I'm not a player. Damn. Missed opportunity. When I got back to Hoboken, I stopped off at the old 24 hour cigar store to pick up a drink. I picked up some orange Gatorade Ice.

It's called ICE because the drink is clear and cold. It was tasty but I just felt a little let down. I'm paying $1.75 for a drink, at least put some color in there! Let me feel like I'm getting something. You take a can of soda, that's got it all, carbonation, color, the cool sound of opening the can and the satisfaction of crumpling the can when you're done. This ICE, comes in a bottle, it's very hard to crumple a bottle. I'm disappointed with my purchase, I should know better. And to top it all off, I'm looking out my window and I can's believe it!

So, I get on the bus yesterday, sit down and everything I'm wearing is dirty. I look around and it looked like the bus was driven through a swamp with the windows down. I was so pissed off! This is a photo of the ceiling of the bus:

Can you imagine how filthy it was on the seats?! On my way off the bus I told the driver about this and he couldn't have cared less. He mumbled something and basically ignored me! I said to him in a loud tone, "Thanks a lot!" When I got to work you better believe I was writing a letter (with photos) to the New Jersey Transit -- I didn't even take off my jacket off. My jacket was dirty too! I'll keep you updated as to what happens. However, I have a feeling what will happen, absolutely nothing. They say for every bad thing, something good happens. The good occurred at, of all places, the A & P. I was shopping for eye glass cleaner. They didn't seem to have any so I ended up looking at window glass cleaners. I looked and looked. I finally found one that was free of Ammonia. I don't want to harm my eye glasses. I put the cleaner in my cart and this guy said to me, "You know, I work with glass and that's just about the best stuff there is."

I thought that that was very nice of him. I said, "Well thank you very much!" That restored my faith in humanity -- For about 3 days, then I got on that stupid bus. Holy Moly, the lotto is up to 300 million! OK, here's what I did over the weekend. Friday Night, I got things kicked off by watching MASH on DVD. I like that movie a lot. Saturday, I woke up and cleaned/rearraranged my apartment. I really cleaned everything. The cat hair alone took over an hour! What was once on the left side of my apartment, is now on the right. I also put in my air conditioner. And I cleaned my windows -- I even got on the fire escape and cleaned the outside! I was like a cleaning machine. There's only one way to top a day of cleaning -- You guessed it, laundry. I drove to Nutley but something was different. The usually empty parking lot was filled to the gills with shoppers. A Kohl's opened up. I may have to find a new place to do my laundry, the emptiness was half the charm. Don't ask me what the other half is, ha ha. Saturday night, I cooked up some dinner and watched the tube. At 12:00 on MTV2, they had a show on called something like MTV's banned videos. It was a show of all the videos MTV refused to play. They played them, full nudity, drug use and all. It was crazy to see that on regular TV. I'm no prude but if you're going to ban a video for its content, shouldn't you stick to that policy? It just seems so hypocritical. They also have another policy of blurring out the name brand logo of clothing. For instance, you're watching a rap video and the shirt the artist is wearing is blurred because it's advertising some name brand. Yet, the Real World series are just glorified IKEA commercials. Hypocritical! I had to get that out of my system. Sunday, I woke feeling like an adventure. I didn't feel like spending the day solo so I picked up the phone and called my friend, Mindy. We drove to my new favorite town, Red Bank. They have a Restoration Hardware there and I was going to buy a floor lamp for my apartment. The lowest price floor lamp was $199. Crazy! That's my lamp budget for the next five years, ha ha! We walked around, she bought some CDs, I bought a guitar tuner. We checked out some interesting and some not so interesting stores. We grabbed some Chinese food at a converted Friendly's Restaurant -- By the way, that's the best place to get Chinese food, ha ha. From there we went to IKEA. I found my floor lamp:

The lotto is up to 222 million! I have my fingers crossed. I'm psyched about the group thing I put together. That would be swell if we won. I'm not going to talk about it anymore. This is something new for BobBorden.com. My brother sent me his band's CD yesterday. WWW.Aftershok.COM, I want to give it a shout out but I'm not ready to give a full review - I'm going to wait for the new site. Anyway, here's the new part. The CD is great but DAMN that billboard!!!!! I'm so conflicted!!! So confused! Good, bad, up, down. WHAT'S GOING ON?! Internet Acting, Thank you, thank you very much! Hi. I left off yesterday talking about the lotto. I love the lotto. I know, I know, the odds are so stacked against you. I don't think like that, I think, hey, people really win this thing, I'm going to take a shot. It's just so cool to think that by buying a one dollar ticket, you could win 200 million. I got a group of 10 people together at work, we each put up twenty bucks. And last night, I purchased 200 tickets. That was quite the feeling, let me tell you. The dream is alive! I'm not kidding, it's still there. THEY LOVE THE MAJESTIC!!!!!! This film came out December 21, 2001! I can't even remember what I was doing in December! Is this some kind of cruel trick? Are the billboard laborers on strike? Did they really think that The Majestic would still be on people's minds, four months later? AM I LOSING MY MIND?! HELLO? HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means -- "TIME FOR BOBBORDEN.COM'S SCRAMBLED WORD!!" Very good. Today's scrambled word is: "Asth" If you solve it, you win, nothing. Take joy in the fact that you probably solved that on company time. You know what I have right now? LOTTO FEVER! The Big Game is up to $153 million dollars! Here's a saying I learned a long time ago -- You have to be in it to win it! And I'm in it brothers and sisters. I played in Red Bank and twice in Hoboken -- at different machines. I don't like to think about "what if" but sometimes I can't help it. I'd buy a house. That's the dream for me. I've had it up to here with apartment living! UP TO HERE! If I had a house, I'd enjoy mowing the lawn, heck, I'd probably even plant a garden. I could have friends over, I'd entertain, as they say. I could park my car in a garage, not on the street like a common slob. (I park on the street now, FYI) I'd have a room with nothing but a train set. My cats could roam free and kill some prey. Oh it's fun to dream sometimes. I got a good nights sleep last night. That daylight savings time may have won the battle but it didn't win the war! I have no idea what I'm talking about. I just thought of something else I'd buy. I'd get a Viper. That would be my grocery getter. However, my everyday car would be a Volkswagen Beetle. I love the Beetle! I was thinking, if I ever was given one of those potions that made you big, like Godzilla. You'd have to think that being that big would make you insane. So, here's what I'd look like if I was given a "Godzilla" potion and was close to a used car lot:

Hi. I hope everyone had a great weekend. My weekend started on Friday night. I went over to Walter's to work on the new BobBorden.com site. I got there and we talked about it and figured out that I didn't need to be there. The hard part was over, now it's just a matter filling in the blanks. I can't set a launch date without talking to Walter but I'd say in a few weeks, BobBorden.com will be unveiled to the world -- TO THE WORLD!!! So, I went home and had a burrito for dinner. Saturday, I didn't wake up until 11:30! I headed over to Nutley to do my laundry, nothing new to report there, my whites are still white -- all is well. Saturday night I had something fun planned. My friend Sandi and I were invited over to Alex's apartment. I know Alex from knowing Sandi. They're both good people. Alex cooked for us, as well as for herself, ha ha. I don't want to overstate it but DAMN, that was some good chow! Alex is quite the cook! She started things off with shrimp dumplings. Mmmmmmm, good eating! The main course was broccoli rabe, fish and a mushroom risotto. Each item was done to perfection. It was a symphony of flavors. The dessert she made was, well, it left me speechless. It's called molten chocolate cake. It looks like an upside down cupcake with vanilla ice cream on the side. You take your spoon and cut into the cake and out oozes chocolate. It was incredible! Thanks, Alex!!!!! In kind of a related story, I had to say good-bye to an old friend this weekend, my khakis.

What can I say, I had a blowout. They just got old and couldn't talk the load anymore. It's so hard to fine good pants nowadays. Time to start the diet! OK, back to the dinner story. So, my friend Sandi didn't inform me until I got to Alex's that there was a party to go to afterwards. She knows me and knew that if she told me, I probably wouldn't have gone out. I can't get mad at her because she's right. So we left Alex's. We get to the party, I could see inside and it was not my scene. They were singing and playing guitars. You know, having fun. I said I have to go and walked home. I had a great night. Sunday, I drove to Red Bank and walked around there for a while. That's always a nice little trip. You get the car out on the road, you go shopping and drive back. I got home and went to the A & P. And that was it for Sunday. That brings us to this morning. Sweet Georgia Brown! I couldn't sleep last night. I think the hour time change messed my internal clock up. I just feel off. Oh well, such is life. That's it! Have a good day. God Bless America.

Ahhhhh, the end of the week, hello weekend! TGIF, am I right? Ha Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I didn't do anything last night. Here's a leftover story from yesterday: I was on the bus this morning and this guy was listening to his cassette Walkman. He was playing it and forwarding it, over and over. The song he was looking for? Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive." 52 people on the bus and I have to sit next to that guy. I just walked to the "kitchen" at work and ran into my friend Lee. You'll remember Lee because his photo was in my diary this week. I made his photo look like that Aha video from the 80's. Anyway, I look at him and he's wearing a BobBorden.com shirt! Check it out:

I learned one thing from my Pomade contest yesterday -- Women get disgusted by the thought of my used hair products. That's fine, I can live with that. I received a lot of entries yesterday, OK, I only received 3. And I had to disqualify one entry because he was a former intern, nice going RICK! I took the remaining entries home, slept on them and made my decision. Congratulations to Tom Collins! I'm sending you the pomade today. Tom won me over when he wrote, "I personally have no idea what 'Pomade' is."

I'm thinking that this introduction to pomade could possibly change his life. He'll get a better job, make more money and marry the woman of his dreams -- Or he'll throw it in the trash. Either way, this greasy junk is out of my life, ha ha. Special runner-up notice to Mark Nelson, good job but Tom edged you out with his ignorance to hair care products.

On to a less gross discussion. I'm still in shock of the bus prices going up. I don't think anyone really cares about it. It just seems like we're getting screwed. When you're riding the bus from Hoboken to New York City and it costs $20, don't say I didn't warn you! I'm going to do something new today, I call it: Make My Friend Lee Ellenberg Look Like The Guy in the Ah Ha Video, Take On Me -- Here it goes:

Hello. I have a feeling that a lot of people are on vacation this week. I'm not seeing a lot of action on my message board or anywhere else for that matter. Ha ha ha ha ha, oh it's funny because it's true. I made a very important announcement yesterday concerning my hair products. I said I was making the switch from gel to pomade. Well, after a day on the pomade, I'm going back to gel. I just felt greasy all day. I got the hold and shine I wanted but at what price? But wait, the story doesn't end there. My loss is you gain. Why? Because I'm giving away my used pomade in one of my patented contests. I call it, Win My Used, Autographed, Pomade!

I get on the bus last night and it's my favorite kind of bus. There's a row of seats on the side that are by themselves. Meaning, you get a seat to yourself because there's only room for one person on that seat. All the other seats on the bus you have to share. The seats are hard plastic and not very enjoyable to share. I get on the bus and there's one cool seat left! I walk to the seat, look at it and almost sit down in a puddle of water. I caught myself in the nick of time and headed to the back of the bus. I see this same scene play out over and over again as people board the bus. We drive out of the Lincoln Tunnel and make our first stop, a guy gets on and you guessed it, sits down in the seat. I'm watching this, he realizes what happened, moved to the edge of the seat and then to another seat. The back of his pants are soaked. My question to you is this: You get on the bus, go for that seat, see that it has water on it and move to a nearby seat. WOULDN'T YOU AT LEAST GIVE SOMEBODY A HEADS UP IF YOU SAW THEM SITTING DOWN?!!!!! The people around him did absolutely nothing! The woman behind the seat must have seen this chain of events over and over again. Why didn't she say anything? Is this society now? Is this how it works? Pitiful. I would have said something but I was all the way in back, I can't scream to this guy, it would have caused a panic. If I were closer, I would have said something. People! I get on the bus yesterday morning and they jacked up the fare on me! It was $1.50, now it's $2.00. That's a pretty stiff hike. They just keep sticking it to me! What's next, a tax for sitting on the bus? OK, on to some happier news. I got a haircut last night. It was looking a little shabby. Now look at it:

I made a very important decision when I was in the chair last night. I'm done with hair gel and I'm switching to Pomade. I need more hold and shine. Sweet Georgia Brown, Pomade, gel -- it's all moot because I'm losing my hair anyway. I've been losing hair since I was 15. I remember on vacation my brother running in from the bathroom with my hair that he took from the bathtub. He announced to my Mom and Dad that I was going bald. I remember there was no support from him, he just said something like, "You're going bald dude." Here's what's going on these days:

I'd say it's more thin than bald. I can still feel hair up there. I'm not going to be one of those guys that needs to have hair at any cost. I'll just shave it all off when the time comes. I'm not bald. That's it. Have a great day. God Bless America.

Hello. I'm going to start off today's diary by talking about my weekend. Friday night I went out to celebrate Jay's birthday. We went to a fancy restaurant on the East Side. It was nice sitting down to a good meal with good friends and good conversation. It's always good to talk about the events of the day and what it's like to take a vacation in the jungle. Right after dinner, "Sally" took this photo:

We headed to a bar after that. I walked in and just had a gut feeling like I should call it a night. So, that's what I did. I took off, walked a little bit and jumped in a cab to the Path station. The cab driver didn't know where it was, I didn't either! 6 years of riding on that thing and I don't know the stops! I guess my mind doesn't work like that. He asked the driver in another cab and I was back in Hoboken in no time. I looked in my mail box when I got home and couldn't believe it! I'm not sure if I should write about this. It's a once in a lifetime thing. I've been invited to an exclusive "Private Sale" and from the look of the model on the invite, I should keep it a secret, oh what the heck, I'll share my good fortune:

How do you spell sellout? I love Madison Avenue, LOVE IT!! Saturday, I didn't do much. I did my laundry in Nutley. I couldn't believe it! I was doing my laundry and I saw a girl from work, Tara. It was odd seeing someone from work at the laundry, in Nutley. Oh but we had a good laugh! After that I went to the A & P. I went home and was in for the night. I tried burning a another CD but even at the highest setting, it still made a digital hiss. I'm going to get a new/better burner, someday. If I can't hear "Twisted Sister's Were Not Going to Take It" at its optimum sound quality, then what's it all about anyway?! Sunday, I went over to Walter and "Sally's" place. We probably shouldn't have worked on Easter but it just seemed like a good day to chop some wood. My new site is coming along, I'm very excited about it. "Sally" made a lovely dinner, I had a great day. Special thanks to Walter and "Sally." So, that's it. I'm going to run. Have a great day. God Bless America.
