I was driving around Manhasset last weekend running some errands. I couldn't find a parking spot, so I had to park illegally on a side street. This seemingly small detail seems pointless but, it lead me to drive down a street I never would have been on. This street just happened to be throwing out large items. One of these items was a great dresser!
Cool dresser!
I pulled the car over, tilted up the seats and excitedly loaded in my new piece of furniture. I raced home, unloaded the dresser and put the drawers in. That's when I realized...
...oh crap!
There were only 4 out of 5 drawers!!!! I felt like a total dumb ass. But this dresser was again, SO cool...I couldn't give up. I went back to the house and put a note in their mailbox. I asked if they happened to have the other drawer. It was an act of a desperate man. 24 hours went by and they e-mailed me back! How cool was that?! Sadly, they didn't have the other drawer. But It was so great for them to put an end to my curiosity.
I may find somebody to make a drawer.
I've always been a fan of Kings of Leon. They put out a new album today and I like it.
Best,
Bob

Cara and I are going to the Emmy Awards. However, we had to checkout
of our hotel early. All dressed up and nowhere to go. We rented a
Prius. It's great on gas but pretty boring.

Busy & Tired...that's how I'd describe the last couple of weeks. My honeymoon was great! But we took the red eye back from Hawaii/LA so I could get back to New York in time to take another plane to Denver (for the DNC, for work). It all contributed to a hazy/tired feeling that only recently subsided.
I live on Long Island now. I said goodbye to Hoboken on July 31. Instead of the bus, I take the train. I like the train; I can read the paper on my way in. There was one funny train-related thing that happened this week. It was rush hour and I was going home. I was sitting by the window in a 3-seat row. The middle seat was empty and far left seat was taken. Just as the train was about to pull out, a woman sits in the middle seat. There were empty middle seats in front and behind me but, of course, she sat next to me.
It was uncomfortable. I'm a big guy, she was a somewhat large woman and the guy was big too. There wasn't much room to chill. But after a few stops, thankfully, the guy got off. Problem solved, right? Wrong. She never moved over!
Socially awkward
I was getting mad and was very close to asking her to move over. But then I thought, let's see how long this lasts. She didn't move until she got up to leave the train. I never have and I never will understand people.
Cara and I don't have a house yet but hopefully soon. I love being married.
