When I'm with Cara (girlfriend), my weekends are amazing. But when we're not able to get together, damn if I don't fall back into my old loser ways.
The highlights of my day so far:
Lunch
"Table for one, please."
At this pizza place by Nutley, I can get two slices and a bottle of root beer for $5.50. It's good! But sitting there with nothing to watch but Italian soccer, leaves something to be desired. GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL?
After lunch, I walked next door and bought some scratch-off tickets.
Is this how Bill Gates got rich?
I didn't get them to go...I scratched them off IN THE STORE! I kept winning with some kind of poker game and kept buying the same game until, of course, there was no more winning to be had. The guy in the store was laughing at me.
And that brings us to 4:13 PM. I think I'll go to bed, ha ha.
Best,
Bob

I just spent the day with my lady. :-) We went to the mall in Paramus, NJ. While we were walking around, look at what I saw:

Look at how short that escalator is! There were steps on the sides and there was even a ramp for the handicaped. What was the need to put this in?! It's all I can think about right now. I want to know how much it cost. It was in front of a J. C. Penney. I can only guess J. C. Penney shoppers are extremely lazy. It's four and a half steps! Ha ha. Crazy world.
I heard this great song this morning; Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova. Man, it's good! It turns out they're in a movie called "Once." I loved the song so much, I bought the movie this afternoon and plan on watching it tonight. Without giving anything away, I'll update the site later and let you know what I thought.

UPDATE: Wow! What a great film!

Sorry for the non-updates this week. Here's a couple of observations from Thursday:
I was walking out of work tonight and I happened to see a tow truck towing a U-Haul van. I didn't think anything of it because cars get towed all the time in the big city. I made my usual trip to the Port Authority. I got on my bus and just as we were entering the Lincoln Tunnel, I looked over and the very same tow truck was right next to me. What's the point to this story? I have no idea. Oh, how about this...
While I was waiting for the bus, I couldn't help overhearing a conversation behind me. It went something like this:
Girl #1: "I like your hat."
Girl #2: "I was shopping for hats with "Jennifer." We both found hats we liked, paid for them and we were on our way. Later Jennifer said she really liked her hat and wondered how much it cost. She pulled out her receipt and it was $25. I thought, oh, that's a good price, I wonder how much mine cost...I was busy and didn't check when I bought it. So, I look at the receipt and it cost $390."
Girl #1: "Oh my God."
Girl #2: "I went back to the store to see how I could have made such a mistake. All the other hats were $25. This one was thrown in with the cheaper hats. So, every day last winter and this winter, I wore the hat everyday. It doesn't go with anything but I have to wear it."
Is there any point to that story? Not really, I could say something snide like, always wear your headphones while waiting for the bus. But, I have to say I enjoyed it. The girl accidentally purchased a $390 hat! The sad part of this story is when I was able to look at the girls, I couldn't see the hat! I really wanted to see what a $390 hat looks like. Such is life.

Bob

On my way out of Hoboken, a yellow Corvette ran a stop sign right in front of me. Had I left a second earlier, I would have been fused to his dashboard. A few hours later, a Hoboken taxi almost cut me off. Both times my horn came in handy. I went to Wal-Mart at Noon today (Saturday). What an awful day.

Recently I was buying some songs on itunes. I came across Robert Palmer. Everybody remembers him from the 80's - Addicted To Love. But if you dig a little deeper, he has more than a few gems in his catalog. What I loved the most from my music hunt was his album cover from 1978 - Double Fun.

He's just relaxing in the pool, oh, and there's probably two naked chicks with him! Addicted to Love? I'd say so. He passed away in 2003 from a heart attack. I like the song "Every Kinda People."
That's all I got.
Best,
Bob

Day before Valentine's Day story:
I was in a store buying some Chapstick earlier this evening. After the money for merchandise exchange was made, the guy said to me, "Happy Valentine's Day, buddy." I said to him, Happy Valentine's Day to you too. Two guys in a store, wishing each other a Happy Valentine's Day...kind of warms the heart, right?
Speaking of Valentine's Day, I hate to draw attention to myself...wait a minute, I LOVE drawing attention to myself! I sent my girlfriend (Cara) flowers a day early (she's going away for the weekend, I wanted her to enjoy them for at least a couple of days - not that you need to know any of that information.) - look how beautiful:
Happy Valentine's Day!
Hooray for me! Ha ha. Have a good one.
Best,
Bob
