Funniest thing happened to me last night. I'm watching Night of the Living Dead (got that in the mail yesterday), enjoying the heck out of it and the next thing I know...
I fell asleep and woke up
at 4 AM!
Yuk! Another wasted night. I must be more tired than I think. But it could be the combo of the heat and crashing in front of my sweet, sweet air conditioner. SIGH!
So, for another day...I have nothing of note to talk about, at least nothing to talk about at 4:30 AM!
I'll leave you with this; A friend of mine (Sam Vance) out in Cali is a working actor. I believe he's in another commercial, which is huge but this one seems even cooler because of the co-star.
[L to R] Howie Long, Sam Vance
That's pretty cool -- I wish I had more details, Sam needs a website. Anyway, keep up the good work Sam!
Bonus photo:
4 AM CATS!
OK, I thought it was something. That's it! Hoping you got a better night's sleep than I did --
Best,
Bob

zzzzzzz...
Oh, Hi! No, I'm cool. Actually, it's 3 AM and I just woke up. Sofa + humidity =
Bob fell asleep on his sofa, again

Needless to say, today's diary is going to suck eggs, which is odd because the topic of Tuesday's diary was Omelets. Funny how life works.
Thanks to everyone for posting nice messages to my 'comments' section. It's always nice to see that people still read this sum bitch.
I got home last night, hit the sofa to relax and the AC/being hot from the walk home (it's very humid here) combo did me in. But I think my body was tired because I've been getting up crazy early the last few days, again, because of the heat. IT'S TOO HOT TO SLEEP!
Due to the fact that I canceled my Direct TV and that there was nothing on the 5 channels I get, I put in The Big Lebowski -- Man, that's a good one! It's not a perfect film because it does get a little long in the tooth but it's pretty darn close to being perfect. I was thinking that my friend "Sally" would enjoy it because there are just so many funny/classic moments.
The Big Lebowski
(1998)
Hey, it's 3:20 AM! That's it! Have a good one.
Stay beautiful,
Bob

Leftovers from my weekend (and more).
When I was doing my laundry on Saturday, I thought to myself, ‘you know what I’d like for breakfast tomorrow? An omelet.’ Now, this thought brought up a quandary because I threw out my old skillet about six months ago because I thought it was beyond cleaning (I left it in the sink too long and stuff was growing in it (yuk!)). I walked over to Linens & Things to price a skillet.
Those things aren’t cheap! I didn’t want to get a crappy one that would get messed up in a week, so, I bought the $30, 10-inch model. Check it:
Sweet skillet!
With ingredients, I figure this would be a $40 omelet – must be nice! Sunday morning comes and I’m ready to go. I beat up 3 eggs, and cook ‘em up. But man, 3 eggs don’t look like a lot at all. I did buy ‘Large’ eggs, maybe I needed to go extra large, is there such a thing? I put in two more eggs, just for safety. A little cheese and some mushrooms and presto, an omelet – but with the addition of the eggs, it was like an omelet for King Farouk!
King Farouk...an omelet lover?
I could only eat half but damn, it was good.
When I watched Vanilla Sky on Saturday, I noticed something cool. Tom’s alarm wasn’t the usual “beep, beep, beep,” his “girlfriend” made a homemade greeting (can you see what’s coming?). 5 minutes after I saw that, I was making my own wake-up greeting. I may make it this Friday’s Bobcast, it’s so lame! Saturday night, home alone, making greetings for my alarm clock! Why Lord, why?!
Larry from my message board and the nation's finest film critics seem to love Land of the Dead. I don't get it! It was awful! I think great films like; 28 Days Later and Shaun of the Dead took the zombie genera to a whole new, smarter level. It was up to the master (George Romero) to kick it up or reinvent himself. Sadly, it was just the same old s#@t. It wasn't smart...don't believe the hype!
I have two DVDs coming to me this week, #1 is George Romero's Night of the Living Dead. I wanted to clean my palette. It's cool to see the first of its kind. And #2 is American Psycho. I hated it at first but the dark humor really won me over on a second viewing. Just thought I'd share that. Hey, I have to fill this up somehow, ha ha.
Are you out there?! Let's hear from everybody on my message board today!
That's it!
Stay beautiful,
Bob

Friday’s plan: See Land of the Dead with my friend Jay, but first, dinner at Howard Johnson’s! HoJo’s is to my friends what Arnold’s is to Happy Days. Except, instead of going there every day, we haven’t been there for at least five years, ha ha. What’s the topic that comes up most from that last dinner? How I ate the fried clam dinner, with fries, milkshake and managed to stay alive. But that was then. We went out of our way to eat there because it’s closing soon.
Goodbye HoJo’s!

Before dinner, two nice ladies from Ohio recognized me. Best part about that? My friends got to witness it – I knew I was famous! Ha ha. I was so caught up in being recognized, I forgot to get their photo – damn! But it was a good dinner – where else can you eat mediocre food, without air conditioning, all for the low, low price of $95?
After dinner we split up, Jay and I headed over to the 9:20 showing of LAND OF THE DEAD! I was so excited for this zombie flick. But it was really bad. It reminded me of those 80’s slasher movies you always saw on HBO at 3 AM. Too bad.
I got home, turned on the AC and fell asleep on my sofa until 7 AM. Then I got in bed and woke up at 11. The plan this weekend was just to clean my apartment. But first, I watched Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai -- A modern classic. After that, I cleaned. I headed over to do my laundry at 6 PM. The place was empty! It was so relaxing. It’s the little things. Went to Target, A & P and then back home. I watched Vanilla Sky, had a brew and called it a night.
Did I mention that it was really humid this weekend? I stayed in by choice.
Sunday I watched The Good, the Bad and the Ugly – classic! I finished cleaning and that leads me to now. Hey, look how nicely my grass is coming in:
Bob’s grass
My cats love this stuff and I loved growing it, I felt like a farmer! Oooo, you know what else I watched? To Live and Die in L.A. – that’s a damn good movie! Weird ending but very entertaining.
OK, that’s it!
Have a great day.
All my best,
Bob

Thanks to my brother George, the bobborden.com that we’ve all come to love is back and better than ever! Sorry for the unexpected couple of diary-free days but I had to change servers. One day, Blogger quit updating…they said it was my server, my server said it was Blogger…guess what? But that’s water under the bridge.
Breathe again, enjoy the BobCast (OOPS, THIS BOBCAST IS GONE...THERE'S A NEW ONE EVERY FRIDAY THOUGH) and I’ll have more on Monday. Have a great weekend!
Best,
Bob
