I'm sitting in the Honda service waiting room right now.

Bob

I wanted to get my car fixed up for summer. I figure I didn't do anything to get it ready for winter, so I better pay the piper now. I'm getting the 60,000 mile service, even though I only have 52,000 miles on the car. I haven't talked about cars on this site for a while. I need to update my 'cars' section. If you read bb.com, I think you know that in 2005, I bought a new Honda Civic. It was so great to have something new after years of junkers.

As great as the Civic was, it wasn't a good match for me. You see, the Civic is very small and I'm very large. Getting in and out of it was hurting my knee. So, in February of 2007, I traded it in on a used 2004 Honda Element.

I love this car! It's the perfect match for my active lifestyle. If I wanted to, I could throw my mountain bike in the back, put my snowboard on the roof, go to the beach...and because the floors are rubber, I can hose it out at the end of the day. Of course, I just use it to drive to the A & P on the weekends, ha ha!

In these crazy days of high gas prices, I was looking at the Prius, just for fun. It looks like it might be cool to have all that high-tech stuff and save gas. But it is butt ugly. Although some say the Element is ugly. I love the Mini Cooper. It's bigger on the inside than the Civic (at least in the driver's seat). I will drive a Mini someday. But for right now, I still have another hour before my car is ready. "Sigh!" What a way to spend a Saturday.

I haven't talked about myself on bb.com for a while. I'm getting married! But you knew that already. There sure is a lot to do. Cara is doing 100% of it. I don't have any time. Plus, she's also looking for a place for us to live. That's pretty hard thanks to crazy high apartment prices in my neck of the woods and because of the mortgage mess. But we'll find something. Crap, I have to thank her (more) for doing all of this.

My 20th high school reunion is this summer. I can't make it because of the wedding but I don't think I would have gone anyway. It's not for me. I live for today! (Not sure what that means, ha ha.)

Mother's Day is tomorrow. I ordered my Mom two dozen roses from ProFlowers (via Amazon.com). Thanks to a computer glitch, they sent her four dozen! They were very proactive about telling me about the screw up, which is rare these days. I'd use ProFlowers again. Oh, and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I love you Mom!

That last paragraph was brought to you by ProFlowers.com, ha ha! Crap, 30 more minutes (at least) of sitting in the waiting room. My car better thank me for this. I named her "Old Orange." If you ever have to wait at a dealership for two hours, bring your laptop! This dealership has free Wi-Fi, smart. The time has gone quickly.

I'm listening to The B-52's "Rock Lobster" right now. That's a crazy song! But it's still so good! Ooooo, Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" is on now. So good! The next song is...DEVO's Peek-A-Boo. OK, I'm going to watch a TV show now. Ain't the internet grand?

UPDATE: I'm going to be here a little longer (an hour longer). My rear brakes are messed up, rust (my car sits a lot) has made the pads not wear evenly. And that has screwed up my rear rotors. I'm sure there's an inexpensive solution to this problem but it wasn't presented to me, ha ha!

UPDATE #2: I got here at 9:15 AM...it's 12:04 PM right now. I could be at home playing Grand Theft Auto IV!

UPDATE #3: The rotors had to be picked up from another Honda dealership. 12:16 PM

UPDATE #4: I just ate my 3rd Dunkin Donuts munchkin. It's 1:11 PM and that's all I've had to eat today.

UPDATE #5: I got my car at 2:00 PM.

Best,

Bob
