I'm back...we're back.
I had a good week off. I went to Ohio, chilled out with the family...nothing out of the ordinary, just needed to recharge the batteries.
Highlights? Oh, there were a few. Eight Below with my nephew Lucas. Due to my not buying him a birthday gift (Bad Uncle!), I had to make good on a promise to take him to the movies and buy him dinner. I thought the kid would have forgot but no such luck, ha ha. After the movie we went to get some Chinese food...he loves General Tso's* Chicken, so I got an order for him and an order for me...turns out, that's A LOT of chicken! Live and learn. I gave the leftovers to my brother George and he finished it off the next day.
My Mom and I had a couple of good days. We went to Costco**. Checkout all this Sweet & Low!
Bulk Sweet & Low
After that, we hit Red Lobster...man, that was tasty! Red Lobster in the midwest is great! Here (NJ/NY), not so much. I'm not sure why, just one of those weird life things. We hit the local casino the next day and I'm happy to report that I finally left with more than I brought.
The nephews/niece were in school, so there wasn't a lot to do with them. I played Madden football with my friend Tim one day. That's about it.
Have you listened to Nirvana's Unplugged CD in a while? I gave it a rest for about a year, put it back in the mix and it's just SO GREAT!
Sirius radio on the road is the best! I listened to Stern for 7 hours straight! It was so great! I love driving and laughing my butt off -- makes the time fly by.
OK, that's all you get today...I have to watch The Sopranos. (just watched it -- darn good!) And...FLAV PICKED HOOPZ! Good for them.
Be real --
Bob
*General Tso Tsungtang, or as his name is spelled in modern Pinyin, Zuo Zongtang, was born on Nov. 10, 1812, and died on Sept. 5, 1885. He was a frighteningly gifted military leader during the waning of the Qing dynasty, a figure perhaps the Chinese equivalent of the American Civil War commander William Tecumseh Sherman. He served with brilliant distinction during China's greatest civil war, the 14-year-long Taiping Rebellion, which claimed millions of lives. -- Michael Browning
