November 30, 2005
I was reading an ad on the subway last night, it was for a college, one of their students discovered the first vaccine for polio. I probably knew the guy's name for five minutes in a health class back in the day but now, I just have no idea. That got me to thinking about how society celebrates such meaningless achievements...I mean, I know more about Johnny Knoxville's next movie (it looks pretty funny by the way) than I know about people who have really achieved something, people who have moved us forward! That's why for the whole month of November, bobborden.com is celebrating America's REAL heros. Real hero #1:
Dr. Jonas Edward Salk
Inventor of the first polio vaccine
Tomorrow's Real Hero...Oh crap, today's the last day in November...damn.
Hey, look at this little car:
Small car
Ha ha, how cool is that?! I took that in Hoboken on Thanksgiving. Those crazy brits can build a mean car. Speaking of crazy brits, I think my friend English Weasel had a birthday a week or two ago -- happy 30th! I'm hoping I have the name/age right...let me know Carl.
That's it!
Best,
Bob
