A New Bob, same as the old Bob?
(Look, today's diary has a title!)
What’s the upside to using an ipod? Thousands of songs at your fingertips. The Downside? Having your ipod on shuffle play while riding a packed bus and not being able to reach your ipod when a deep cut from The Fixx comes on. The word 'Painful' has been redefined.
So, in a moment of weakness/hunger, I ordered Domino's for my bosses and myself yesterday.

When will Bob ever learn?

Their 555 deal is the best thing going (Three medium pies for $5 each). I ordered one with pepperoni, one with pepperoni and meatballs and for myself; I thought I'd check out the new cheeseburger pizza, the one that was featured on The Apprentice. Here's the conversation I had with the Domino's guy (he had a thick accent of undetermined origin or as they used to say on TBS wrestling, 'from parts unknown'):
Bob: "Can I get the Cheeseburger pizza with the 555 Deal?"
Domino's Guy: "No way!”
Ha ha - I thought that was funny. He offered no solution on how to get the Cheeseburger pizza, so, I just ordered a Hawaiian pie with thin crust. The Cheeseburger pizza is apparently a marquee item.
And this brings me to my next train of thought: I have to change my life around! I'm just getting sick of my routine. I'm really inspired by the motorcycle documentary I’m watching (Long Way Around) right now. So much so that I can't shake the feeling that I want to drive across America on a motorcycle. Potential problems; I don't have a motorcycle, a license and I'm not sure if I can swing it financially. I looked into taking a class to get my license but they're booked through August. That calmed me down and made me put things into perspective.
If I wait a year, I can have everything: A license, a bike, a rider safety class, I can go on a diet, save money and just do it right instead of being half assed about it. I’m going to make it a goal! I'm excited about that.
Also, I HAVE to get out of my weekend rut. My weekends seem to revolve around one event, Laundry/A & P. I'm thinking about canceling my directv service. Saturday morning, I wake up, start flipping around the dial and before I know it, it's four o'clock! I watch too much TV when I should be off my ass, walking around and being social. Why rush home from work just to sit on the sofa? Why not take a long walk home? Why indeed.
My Dad always told me that 'today is the first day of the rest of your life.' He was right.
I'm going to quit directv starting Friday night. I just want to see if I can rearrange things and work towards something, rather than accept things as they have been.
There you have it. I like this, a new way of thinking, a new Bob - no more BS! Read: Bordonics!
Have a good one.
Serious as a heart attack,
Bob
