I went to dinner last night with my coworkers/friends. Thursday night and I’m living it up! We went to The Palm…that’s a pretty excellent steak house. I was sitting there, enjoying the company, listening to some great stories; I look across the room and saw what looked to be a waiter holding a small dog. He was letting the children pet his small dog. I thought to myself, ‘that’s odd, why do they allow pets in here?’ Turns out, it wasn’t a small dog, it was a giant lobster! More specifically, IT WAS MY GIANT LOBSTER!

(L to R): Joe, Sam, Bob, Giant Lobster
Oh sure, I look like I’m having a swell time in the photo but I have to say, I really didn’t want the attention of wearing a bib and having the waiter crack the claws open for me. It was all just a little too much. It tasted pretty darn good but I stuck out like a turd in a punchbowl.
Note to self, “Next time get the steak Bobby…next time get the steak.”
When it was time for dessert, I ordered the smallest thing they had. In stark contrast to that and similar to my giant lobster, my friend Lee ordered the largest dessert they had:

(L to R): Gerry, giant cake, Lee
Oh my goodness! I think he’s still at the restaurant trying to finish it, ha ha. Oh giant food, what can you do?
I was proud of myself because I hardly drank anything…I think I had one beer. Afterwards I really wanted to go to a strip club (I haven’t been to one in years). But I calmed down and just headed home. Looking back on it now, I made the right call.
That’s it for another swell week at bobborden.com. Can you get your stomach pumped for lobster? Just curious.
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Bob
